Authority
Link building and authority
Links remain one of the strongest ranking signals and the slowest to build honestly. Anyone selling them by the dozen is selling something that carries a permanent risk.
Authority is usually the real constraint on an established site. The technical work is done, the content is reasonable, and it still sits on page two because competitors have a decade of accumulated links.
That is a genuinely hard problem, and it is where most of the dishonesty in this industry lives. Bought links, private networks and link packages all work briefly and carry a permanent liability, because Google's position is that gains from spammy links are withdrawn rather than merely reset.
So we do the slower version: links that exist because somebody had a reason to link. Fewer, slower, and they do not have to be disavowed in two years.
Who this suits
A good fit
- Technical and content foundations are already sound
- You compete against sites with far more referring domains
- You have something genuinely linkable, or can build one
- You can invest over quarters rather than weeks
Probably not a fit
- The site has technical problems, which links will not fix
- You want a fixed number of links per month
- You want this to be fast, which it structurally is not
What the work involves
-
Link gap analysis
Domains linking to several competitors but not to you. The most realistic target list available, because those sites already link to businesses like yours.
-
Digital PR
Original data or research pitched to Australian publications. The most reliable way to earn editorial links at scale, and the most work.
-
Linkable assets
Building the thing worth linking to. Outreach without an asset is just asking strangers for favours.
-
Partnerships and local links
Suppliers, industry bodies, sponsorships and genuine business relationships. Unglamorous and durable.
-
Profile monitoring
Watching for toxic links pointed at you by competitors or inherited from previous suppliers.
How it runs
-
Assess the gap
What competitors have that you do not, and what is realistically reachable.
-
Build the asset
Something with a reason to be linked before any outreach starts.
-
Outreach
Targeted and specific. Volume outreach produces nothing but a damaged sender reputation.
-
Sustain
A small number of quality links per month, indefinitely. This is a habit rather than a campaign.
Common questions
Do you buy links?
No. Not as a moral position but a commercial one: bought links are a liability that sits on your domain permanently, and we would be the ones explaining it later.
How many links will we get per month?
We will not commit to a number, because a number is exactly what turns link building into link buying. One genuinely earned editorial link is worth more than fifty directory submissions.
What about guest posting?
On real publications with real readers, it is fine. On sites that exist to sell guest posts, it is a paid link with extra steps and carries the same risk.
Can competitors hurt us with bad links?
It is rarer than the industry implies, because Google largely ignores obvious spam. We monitor for it and use disavow sparingly, since over-disavowing does more harm than most negative SEO.
