Technical SEO services
Technical SEO is the work that decides whether anything else you do can count. A page Google cannot crawl, render or index is not competing at all, however good it is.
Most technical SEO is not exotic. It is finding the handful of structural decisions that are quietly preventing perfectly good pages from ranking, and correcting them.
The commonest examples are dull and expensive: pages excluded by a robots rule nobody remembers adding, canonical tags pointing at the wrong version, content that only appears after JavaScript runs, redirect chains three hops deep left over from a redesign.
None of that shows up in a content review. All of it caps what the site can achieve. Which is why technical work comes before content work in almost every engagement we run.
Who this suits
A good fit
- You publish good content that does not rank
- Indexed page counts do not match what you published
- The site has been redesigned or migrated at some point
- Core Web Vitals fail and nobody has established why
Probably not a fit
- The site is technically sound and the real gap is authority
- You want a tool report rather than diagnosis and repair
- Nobody can make changes to the site
What the work involves
-
Crawl and index diagnosis
What Google can reach, what it has indexed, what it rejected and why. Search Console tells you the what; the job is working out the why.
-
Rendering
Whether your content exists in the HTML or only after JavaScript executes. This single distinction decides a surprising number of ranking failures.
-
Canonical and duplicate handling
One page, one address. Parameters, protocol variants, trailing slashes and print views all quietly split a page's authority across copies of itself.
-
Redirects
Chains and loops from old migrations, each one leaking a little and slowing crawls. Single hop, always.
-
Core Web Vitals
Field data rather than lab scores, on the templates that actually carry your traffic.
-
Structured data
Correct markup for what is genuinely on the page. We do not add schema describing things that do not exist.
How it runs
-
Full crawl
Every URL, compared against what you intended to publish.
-
Index reconciliation
Where the crawl, the index and your sitemap disagree. The disagreements are the findings.
-
Fix by impact
Indexation problems first, because they gate everything, then speed and structure.
-
Verify
Re-crawl and re-inspect. A technical fix that was not verified is a claim, not a result.
Common questions
How do I know if I have a technical SEO problem?
Compare the number of pages you published with the number Google has indexed. If they differ materially and you cannot explain why, you have one.
Is Core Web Vitals a big ranking factor?
It is a real but small one, and it is a tiebreaker rather than a lever. It matters most because slow pages lose users regardless of ranking, which is the better reason to fix it.
Can technical SEO fix a site that has never ranked?
Sometimes entirely, if something structural was blocking it. More often it removes the ceiling and content and authority work still has to follow.
Do you need developer access?
Not to diagnose. To implement, either we need access or your developer does the work from our briefs, which many clients prefer.
